Today’s home decor is a real decorative exercise using white as the common denominator.
The house is located in Melbourne, Australia, and is owned by interior designer Lynda Gardener, who also has a furniture and decoration store.
It was an old mattress factory, which the owner found in ruins and decided to renovate. We have tried to maintain some original architectural features and the character of the place, such as, for example, the exposed bricks, which have been painted white.
Lynda has set the whole project on the opening of the interior spaces, creating a single large open space: living room/kitchen/dining room on the lower floor with white cement floors. On the upper floor there is only one, but the spacious double bedroom with private bathroom, the original cast iron tub is located right inside the room!
Later, Lynda added a new element to her home: beyond the garden, she created The White Room, an autonomous living space complete with bathroom, kitchen, and its own private entrance, rented or for photo shoots .
On a clear and neutral base canvas, Lynda unfolded all her creativity, decorating every corner with beautiful pieces, mostly vintage and adding touches of gray or brown, always with dusty tones.
The shabby chic taste is predominant, but there are also touches of industrial and vintage style.
This collection is joined by a collection of antique paintings and books, which find their place in every room of the house, creating environments of originality and great charm.
